Heh.

Yesterday I was reading this mini-biography type essay about my Grandfather who served in WWII that my Uncle wrote, and discovered that my Great-Grandfather’s name was Adolf. My immediate reaction as my eyes read these words was to let out a giant “Ha!”. I found this pretty funny but me being half-German it made quite a lot of sense. I’m sure that was a fairly popular name back then. It just got me thinking that no one ever in the future is going to be named that. It’s weird to think that a person can ruin a name. I just started to think what if if the next absolutely horrible, dictator, genocide loving, scum of the earth human being came from England or the United States (which when you think about it wouldn’t be too far off). What if the next name to be ‘ruined’ is like John or Bob or something. Do you know how many people would just be like “Ah fuck dude! Why do you have to ruin that for the rest of us? Now everybody is going to think I’m some sort of dick!”. I wonder if that’s what it was like for all the other Adolf’s residing in Germany when he took power, like my Great-Grandfather if he was still alive when it happened, I’m not sure. I wonder if there were a lot of little kids in Europe being picked on because of their name.
